Having recently got my hands on a Lumia 720 (review coming soon) I’ve noticed yet another flaw in the operating system which this time is caused by Nokia’s App Highlights app.
The app is designed as an alternative to the official Windows Store though only offers suggested apps, some of which are published by Nokia themselves.
Therein lies the problem. Certain apps published by Nokia causes confussion for users when it comes to the store. A perfect example of this is the eBay app.
The app which is published by both Nokia and eBay inc shows in the store twice however both versions are different at version level despite both being coded by eBay inc.
As you can see in the screenshots below, the app versions are different and this in itself is a major issue as the Nokia published version may be missing vital security updates add to that the fact that you can install both apps at the one time with different accounts and well, that’s just not right.
